Bexar County deputies are ramping up their search for Eden Rodriguez, a registered sex offender now wanted on new child sex crime warrants after dropping off the radar for more than two years. Investigators say Rodriguez has skipped the regular registration check‑ins he is legally required to complete and is now facing active warrants tied to alleged crimes involving a child.
According to FOX San Antonio, Rodriguez last followed through with his annual registration on Aug. 29, 2022. Authorities say that by December 2024 he was more than two years overdue. Deputies describe him as about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and roughly 175 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. They say he is wanted in Medina County on active warrants for indecency with a child and aggravated sexual assault of a child, and that investigators believe he may have fled to Mexico.
What police are asking
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who might know where Rodriguez is to call law enforcement rather than approach him themselves. Non‑emergency tips can be reported to the sheriff’s office at 210‑335‑6000, and residents are asked to call 911 if they believe someone is in immediate danger. That guidance comes from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
Legal implications
Under Texas law, failing to comply with sex‑offender registration requirements can itself be a criminal offense, and some registrants must verify their information every year. Chapter 62 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure details those duties and the penalties for non‑compliance, which can include arrest warrants when a registrant does not meet verification rules, per state statute. Texas Code, Chapter 62.
Anyone with information that could help deputies locate Rodriguez is asked to call the sheriff’s office tip line at 210‑335‑6000 or to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 210‑224‑STOP (7867). Authorities caution that fugitives may alter their appearance, and they are asking the public to report sightings to law enforcement instead of attempting a citizen’s arrest. Crime Stoppers guidance appears on the City of San Antonio website.
