A burst of gunfire on Friday evening rattled the neighborhood around 22nd Street and Buchanan Street in Marysville, sending officers rushing to the intersection. Police say they found evidence of a shooting and one person with minor injuries that did not appear to be life threatening. A 19-year-old was later arrested in connection with the incident.
What police reported
According to a Marysville Police Department Facebook post, officers were dispatched at about 6:24 p.m. after multiple callers reported shots fired in the 22nd and Buchanan area. Investigators found several shell casings at the scene while public-safety crews provided aid to the injured person. Police also put out a BOLO, or broadcast alert, for a gray Dodge Charger that was described as the suspect vehicle.
Marysville police identified the suspect as 19-year-old Kaden Henson and reported that Gridley police later located and detained him. Marysville personnel then took custody and booked him without incident. The department noted that the investigation remains ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact the Marysville Police Department.
