Saturday, June 20, 2026 started on a crisp note across Milwaukee, with clear skies and temperatures hovering near 61°F at local observation sites. By afternoon, sunshine and a light northwest breeze around 10 mph should nudge highs to about 74°F, a sweet spot for patio lunches, errands or an easy stroll along the lakefront.
Weekend Snapshot
Sunny skies will hold through much of Saturday before clouds filter in overnight. Temperatures will slip into the mid 50s by daybreak Sunday.
Sunday, June 21 turns noticeably cooler, with highs near 67°F and a chance of rain showers after 3 p.m. The better odds for measurable rain sit closer to the Wisconsin Illinois border, so the farther south you go, the wetter it may get.
Sunday Showers and Lakeshore Hazards
Forecast models have nudged the heaviest shower threat a bit farther south, but parts of southern Milwaukee County still carry about a 30% chance of afternoon showers Sunday and a 50% chance Sunday night. Rain totals look light overall: roughly a tenth to a quarter of an inch during the afternoon and up to a half inch in a few spots overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, onshore winds Sunday into Sunday night could kick up waves and make swimming hazardous at some Lake Michigan beaches. In other words, it may look inviting from the shoreline, but the water could be a different story.
Boaters and Beachgoers
Boaters should give the marine forecast a close read before heading out Sunday and be ready to duck into protected harbors if winds ramp up. Smaller craft, in particular, may find conditions choppy on the southern half of Lake Michigan.
On land, Milwaukee County Parks is keeping the message simple: LIFEGUARDS ARE NOT ON DUTY. SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK,
so plan accordingly, keep an eye on beach flags and the people you are with, and check the latest safety notes from Milwaukee County Parks.
Looking Ahead
High pressure slides back in on Monday, June 22, bringing mostly sunny skies and highs near 69°F. After that, the pattern turns more unsettled. Showers and thunderstorms become more likely by Wednesday, June 24, when highs rebound to around 75°F.
If you are plotting midweek cookouts or ball games, keep a flexible plan and check updated forecasts before committing to outdoor time.
