Greater Cleveland RTA is bringing the Waterfront Line back into play tomorrow, shuttling Post Malone fans between downtown and the lakefront so fewer people are stuck circling for parking. Trains will connect Tower City and Huntington Bank Field for the stadium show, and riders are being urged to tap or scan in the Transit or EZfare apps so every trip counts toward the agency’s new fare cap system.
RTA’s Announcement And Schedule
According to Greater Cleveland RTA, the Waterfront Line will operate tomorrow evening with trips timed to the Post Malone concert and is expected to start service at about 4:30 p.m. The Post Malone date is listed for tomorrow at Huntington Bank Field, and ticketing pages show a roughly 7 p.m. start time on Ticketmaster. RTA is directing riders to board at Tower City station and to scan the QR code displayed in the app whenever platform validators are not available.
How Fares And Fare Capping Work
As reported in RTA’s rollout of account-based fare capping in June, GCRTA’s new system lets registered riders who tap or scan with Transit or EZfare avoid paying more than the daily cap, which is set at 5 dollars for full-fare users. The change is designed to make event trips easier for people who string together several short rides across town instead of paying separate fares or shelling out for event parking. Riders who have not created an account are advised to register before heading downtown so each boarding is recorded toward the cap.
Getting To The Lakefront
RTA recommends that concertgoers start at Tower City and ride the Waterfront extension toward the lakefront. The agency is asking riders to have their QR code or app open before they board, in line with the social media announcement. The contact page for Huntington Bank Field lists the stadium at 100 Alfred Lerner Way and provides arrival and parking guidance for fans. Trains are expected to be busiest right after the show, so riders are encouraged to allow extra time for the trip back or to stagger their exit if they want to avoid the heaviest crowds.
Quick Tips For Riders
Set up an account in the Transit or EZfare apps before you leave, load funds in advance, and tap or scan at every boarding so rides count toward the fare cap. Bring a fully charged phone, aim to arrive early if you want a less crowded ride to the stadium, and consider alternate routes or rideshares if you prefer to skip the post-show rush entirely.
