One Wisconsin Rapids resident just turned a $50 gamble into a $2,000,000 top prize after scratching a "2 Million Royale" ticket, according to FOX6 Milwaukee. The winning ticket was bought at Nekoosa Mart on 1st Street in Nekoosa and later validated at the Wisconsin Lottery office in Madison. It is the largest winning ticket the store has ever sold and the game's first confirmed top-prize claim.
The winner, identified by the Lottery as Kelly Reitz, claimed the prize at the Madison office last week, FOX6 Milwaukee reports. The outlet notes that the ticket was purchased at Nekoosa Mart, 106 1st St., and that the retailer's biggest-ever payout is based on information provided by the Wisconsin Lottery.
Game details and odds
The $2 Million Royale is a $50 scratch game that debuted on January 30, 2026 and offers ten prize levels ranging from $75 to $2,000,000, according to the Wisconsin Lottery. Game documentation lists two $2,000,000 top prizes at launch along with several other high-tier awards, and the Lottery verifies the count of remaining top prizes weekly as tickets are validated.
What winners should know
Lottery rules require winners to claim prizes within a set window. As the Lottery notes, "The holder of a winning $2 MILLION ROYALE ticket must claim the prize ... within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days," per the Wisconsin Lottery. The agency also advises players to sign the back of their ticket and follow official claim instructions at Lottery offices in Madison or Milwaukee.
