North Texas is about to get a new player in its already buzzing boba game. ChaHalo, a milk-tea chain born in Xi'an and now eyeing the globe, is slated to open its first North Texas shop in Plano around early August. The store will be run by entrepreneur Eva Wu, a familiar face at area farmers' markets who traveled to China to train directly with the brand. ChaHalo leans into tea-forward drinks made from whole tea leaves and fresh milk instead of powdered shortcuts.

The Plano shop will span about 1,100 square feet at 6809 North Central Expressway, Suite 500, Wu told The Dallas Morning News. She said she spent four weeks in April 2026 training at ChaHalo headquarters in Xi'an and chose the brand because of its focus on Chinese tea culture and high tea quality. Before jumping into milk tea, Wu worked in real estate private equity in Dallas and now operates Eat Eat Dessert and More, a farmers-market vendor that typically sells roughly 120 servings most Saturdays at the McKinney Farmers Market and often sells out before closing time.

What To Expect At The Counter

Instead of sugar bombs with a hint of tea, ChaHalo emphasizes freshly brewed whole-leaf tea bases and a layered "Tri-aroma" flavor approach paired with fresh milk and seasonal fruit, according to ChaHalo. Founded in Xi'an in 2016, the company reports that it operates nearly 1,000 stores across China and has started pushing into international markets. Its U.S. rollout lists additional shops under development, including locations in Plano and Houston.

Menu Highlights And Prices

Tea purists can expect staples such as Osmanthus Oolong and the Chahalo Black Milk Tea Frappé, while boba fans will find fresh-milk drinks capped with handmade tapioca pearls. As reported by The Dallas Morning News, U.S. menu prices are expected to start at about $4.49 for a jasmine green tea and climb to around $7.99 for larger frappé-style drinks, with medium milk teas near $6.49 and large sizes about $6.99.

Where It Fits In Plano's Bubble-Tea Scene

Plano's bubble-tea landscape is already crowded with national chains and neighborhood independents, and ChaHalo's debut adds a tea-focused, China-born concept to the mix. Hoodline coverage of 5 favorite boba spots in Plano, along with recent reporting on new openings, points to steady local demand for milk-tea shops.

Wu is targeting an early August opening and plans to share updates as construction moves along. On the U.S. stores page, ChaHalo currently lists Plano as "under development" ahead of the debut. In the meantime, locals craving a tea-forward twist on boba can still track Wu down at area farmers' markets while the new shop gets ready to switch on the open sign.
