Blue Mint Thai is putting down major roots at 380 E Front Street in Arlington’s Entertainment District, where it is opening a flagship restaurant that will also serve as a hands-on training hub for new franchisees. The buildout is about 65% complete, and the spot will join existing company locations in Mansfield and Midlothian. The address sits within walking distance of UT Arlington and just minutes from AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field, right in the middle of the city’s event-driven dining corridor.
Owner Mike Wilson, a retired Arlington police detective and former U.S. Air Force security forces commander, told The Dallas Morning News the company plans to grow carefully and is looking to follow the playbook of fast-casual players such as Chipotle, Cava and Raising Cane’s. Wilson told the paper the Arlington flagship will double as an on-site classroom for franchise operators and that construction on the new restaurant was about 65 percent complete.
According to Blue Mint's website, the Arlington location is listed at 380 E Front Street, Suite 160. The site confirms the brand already runs full-service restaurants in Mansfield and Midlothian along with a concession at Globe Life Field. The locations page also features renderings of the planned Arlington storefront and previously carried an "opens in early 2026" note as the company finalized construction details.
Franchise push and cautious growth
Blue Mint recently rolled out a national franchise program in partnership with Franchise Marketing Systems and says it has already received letters of intent for new territories, including at least one in Frisco, according to a company release reported by RestaurantNews. Company materials emphasize that the chain is focusing on operators who fit its food, culture and long-term standards rather than chasing rapid expansion.
What the flagship means for Arlington
The Arlington flagship gives Blue Mint a prominent storefront in a pocket of town that fills with sports fans, students and concertgoers, creating a steady audience for fast-casual Thai food. The brand’s partnership with the Texas Rangers and its concession presence at Globe Life Field offer built-in exposure that the company says will help franchisees start with an existing fan base, according to the company site.
For now, Blue Mint says it is fielding interest from nearby markets such as Fort Worth, Grand Prairie and Weatherford as it lines up franchise partners, according to local reporting. The Dallas Morning News and company materials together provide the clearest look so far at the timeline and next steps as the brand prepares to open its Arlington flagship.
