A pre-dawn drive turned deadly early Sunday when a woman was struck and killed after a Maserati failed to handle a curve on northbound Belt Line Road, according to Grand Prairie police. The crash happened around 6:30 a.m., and Grand Prairie Fire Department medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The Maserati’s driver was not injured and is cooperating with investigators as they work to piece together what happened.
Police say the Maserati was heading north on Belt Line Road and “took a curve too quickly,” hitting the pedestrian, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Investigators told the outlet they do not believe the driver was intoxicated, though they have not ruled out distracted driving. The Dallas County Medical Examiner will release the victim’s name once family members have been notified.

What investigators are doing

No charges have been announced as authorities continue to review the circumstances of the crash.
Officials have not released the woman’s identity, pending notification of next of kin. The investigation remains active, and police are urging anyone with information to reach out to the department’s tip line.
