A Las Vegas dessert heavyweight is back with a new sugar rush for the valley. A fresh milkshake chain launched by a Nothing Bundt Cakes co-founder is rolling into Southern Nevada this summer, with its first brick-and-mortar locked in for Henderson. Shook Shakery, a concept that grew out of a local mobile shake truck, blends house-made cake straight into thick, nostalgia-heavy milkshakes and is planning multiple drive-thru style outlets across the region. The rollout is already hiring locally and promising a music-inspired, road-trip vibe at each shop.
The debut storefront is headed for St. Rose Parkway in Henderson, and the owners say they plan to open four Southern Nevada locations this year. They told reporters the build-out will total about $12 million, with three of the new shops coming in at roughly 900 square feet each. Public records show the company purchased the St. Rose site in March and that the property previously operated as a drive-thru Starbucks, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
What They'll Serve
On the menu, Shook folds house-made cake into its shake base and lists 15 flavors across three categories: The Classics, The Fancy and The Fun. Names like Pinky Promise, Coco Dream and Whirly Zoo lean into the playful side of dessert. There is also a dog-friendly "Tail Spin" treat that sends $1 from every purchase to a local pet charity. The full flavor lineup and item descriptions are posted on the company's menu at Shook Shakery.
Where They're Setting Up Shop
Local coverage and filings put the first Henderson shop at 3360 St. Rose Parkway, with more locations planned elsewhere in the valley. The brick-and-mortar push follows years of food-truck appearances and private events that the founders say helped them dial in both recipes and service. Opening plans were detailed by Fabulous Nevada, and Shook Shakery shows up in Clark County new-business listings as a licensed mobile food vendor, a footprint that predates the storefront expansion (Clark County Department of Business License).
Drive-Thru Format and the Build
Owners say the shops will lean hard into drive-thru service with no indoor seating, instead offering walk-up windows and small outdoor seating areas to keep things quick and casual. The St. Rose Parkway spot is an existing former drive-thru Starbucks of about 940 square feet, per public records, and the purchase was recorded in March. The company told reporters that part of the rollout is being financed with proceeds from the sale of co-founder Dena Tripp's interest in the corporate side of Nothing Bundt Cakes, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Why the Founder Matters
Dena Tripp co-founded Nothing Bundt Cakes in Las Vegas in 1997. By the time Roark Capital acquired the brand in 2021, it had roughly 390 locations and about $470 million in system sales. That kind of scaling history is one reason observers say Tripp brings serious operational experience to the task of turning a mobile dessert concept into a set of small, high-throughput shake shops. The 2021 acquisition details are outlined at BusinessWire.
