
A late-night argument inside an Atlantic Beach home ended in deadly violence Tuesday, when a man was stabbed in the chest on Rose Street and later died at the hospital, according to police. Officers say the incident appears to be isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

According to News4JAX, Atlantic Beach officers were called to the Rose Street home at 9:08 p.m. Tuesday and found a man with a stab wound to the chest. Emergency crews rushed him to a hospital, where he later died.
Investigators say the stabbing followed an argument inside the house. A suspect was taken into custody at the scene, and multiple witnesses were detained for questioning. Detectives from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit are leading the investigation while working with the Atlantic Beach Police Department, the Medical Examiner’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office.

Atlantic Beach is a small beachside community that does not often see homicides, but it has had violent incidents in the past.
