San Antonio police spent Friday night (July 10) scouring a South Side park for clues in the case of a missing 7‑month‑old when officers instead came across skeletal remains, turning an already urgent search into something far more chilling. Investigators say they still do not know whether the remains are human or whether they are connected to the infant at the center of a statewide AMBER Alert.

The Texas Department of Public Safety issued that AMBER Alert on Thursday for 7‑month‑old Ozana Cisneros, who was last seen June 10, according to FOX 7 Austin. The alert says Ozana may be with 19‑year‑old Maximina Cisneros, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the San Antonio Police Department at 210‑207‑7660.

Police told reporters they were searching the 600 block of East Theo Avenue when officers found the remains in a nearby park. Earlier Friday, they had located Maximina Cisneros at a home in the 200 block of Parkview Drive, less than half a mile from the park. She was wanted in connection with the AMBER Alert and was hospitalized in stable condition with unspecified injuries, according to KSAT.

Police keep details tight

With anxiety high on the South Side, investigators are keeping a tight lid on what they share publicly. “We understand the concern from the community and the questions that they have but this is all the information we’re releasing at this time,” Lt. David Bacarreza told reporters, stressing that police have not confirmed whether the remains are related to the AMBER Alert, KSAT reported.

How to help

Anyone with information is urged to call the San Antonio Police Department at 210‑207‑7660, according to FOX 7 Austin. The statewide AMBER Alert system is coordinated by the Texas Department of Public Safety, which asks the public to report any tips to local law enforcement, the agency says.
