A search for a missing Spring Hill mother ended in heartbreak in Cleveland, where friends say 37-year-old Amber Graham was found dead outside a home on Bosworth Road after traveling there to meet someone she’d connected with online.
According to friends and family, Graham, who lived in Spring Hill, Tennessee, went to Cleveland to meet a person she had been communicating with through an online video game and was reported missing on July 2. On July 3, police and firefighters discovered a woman’s body outside a Bosworth Road home, covered by a sheet. As reported by WOIO, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner is investigating the cause of death.
Officials said that on July 1, an 8-year-old walked into a Cleveland fire station and was evaluated by firefighters, who contacted police and Child Protective Services after finding a phone number for a grandmother in Tennessee in the child’s pocket. Friends and family told reporters the child is Graham’s, and loved ones in Tennessee grew alarmed when she stopped answering calls. WKRN reports that the child was placed into protective care while authorities followed up.
Joshua LaCroix, a friend from Franklin, Tennessee, told local reporters that Graham called during her trip and that a man’s voice in the background sounded angry. “That was the last conversation that me and my wife had with her,” LaCroix told WOIO. After Graham stopped responding, LaCroix said friends turned to social media to help identify a house they believed she had visited.
How the house was located
LaCroix said he reached out to a Cleveland Facebook group for help, and members pointed to a home they believed Graham might have visited. Police went to that address and found what they later reported. Community posts and neighbors’ accounts helped guide the search, according to WSMV.
Investigation and legal status
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner is handling the determination of the cause and manner of death, and Cleveland police said they are waiting for the examiner’s ruling before deciding whether to open a criminal investigation. No arrests or charges have been made, and the case remains active as investigators continue to follow leads. As WKRN noted, officials have not released additional details while the medical examiner’s review is underway.
Friends described Graham as a reliable worker who cared for others, and social posts from both Cleveland and Tennessee showed shock and sorrow at the discovery. Police asked anyone with information to contact the Cleveland Division of Police; tips can also be made through local law-enforcement channels, authorities told WSMV.
