San Antonio police say a burglar has quietly worked his way through multiple Stone Oak homes and walked off with what investigators describe as “millions of dollars” in stolen goods. Detectives this week released a set of surveillance images that show a man inside residences and later using allegedly stolen credit cards at department stores. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to call SAPD’s Property Crime Unit at 210-207-8854.
In a post on the department’s Facebook page, investigators said the break-ins date back to March 2026 and involve several houses in the North Side neighborhood. As reported by KSAT, officers shared multiple still images from home surveillance systems, along with photos taken inside stores where the suspect allegedly used the stolen cards.
Police Released Home and Retail Footage
Investigators say the released clips and photos include both doorbell and interior camera footage, plus images from department-store security systems that appear to show the same man making purchases. Telemundo San Antonio reported that police have tied several of those retail transactions to allegedly stolen credit cards and are urging anyone who recognizes the man to call detectives.
Why Neighbors Are on Edge
Stone Oak is a well-known North Side community, and a string of high-dollar burglaries there is rattling residents who are already wary about summer crime. Police warned in mid-June that car and property burglaries often climb with warmer weather, a pattern detectives say can make it harder to catch thieves who move quickly between homes and stores. As noted by KSAT, officers have been urging people to lock up valuables and review their own surveillance recordings for anything suspicious.
How to Help and Protect Your Property
Police are asking residents in and around Stone Oak to save any video that might show the suspect and to avoid confronting him if he is spotted. Instead, they say, call authorities and let officers handle it. The tip line for SAPD’s Property Crime Unit is 210-207-8854, a number highlighted in the department’s public appeal. Those contact details and the surveillance images were also shared by Telemundo San Antonio.
Investigation Remains Active
Detectives say the investigation is ongoing and that tips from neighbors and store employees could be key to putting a name to the face in the images. The public calls log on the San Antonio Police Department site shows a steady flow of theft and burglary reports across the North Side this week, a reminder of the workload facing property-crime units. Residents can keep an eye on those public logs, as well as SAPD’s social media channels, for any updated photos or new details in the Stone Oak case.
