Philadelphia is starting Monday with light rain, thick humidity and patchy fog before the weather turns warmer and brighter later in the day. Temperatures near 72 degrees early will climb to about 88, making for a sticky afternoon with only a slight chance of another shower.
Fog Lifts As Temperatures Climb
Morning showers are expected to taper off, while fog gradually breaks up through late morning. The National Weather Service says partly sunny skies should take over, with west winds near 5 mph and a small chance of rain returning late Monday afternoon or evening.
Some showers and thunderstorms are possible before 9 p.m. Monday, but additional flash flooding is not expected after heavier overnight rain moves away. Monday night will stay mostly cloudy, with a low around 73.
Tuesday And Wednesday Offer A Brief Break
Tuesday looks mostly sunny with a high near 87 and a more comfortable low around 70. Wednesday should be the warmest of the two days, reaching about 89 degrees under sunny skies before clouds and storm chances begin building Wednesday night.
Storm Chances Rise Thursday
Showers and thunderstorms are likely Thursday, with a 60% chance of precipitation and a high near 86. The unsettled pattern could stick around through the weekend, bringing rain chances Friday and likely showers Saturday, when temperatures should ease back into the low 80s.
Sunday is expected to bring partly sunny skies with another chance of showers and thunderstorms, and a high near 83. For outdoor plans, Tuesday and Wednesday currently look like the week’s safest bets before the forecast turns notably wetter.
