Milwaukee is waking up to clear skies and a cool 61 degrees Thursday morning, but the city will warm quickly under a full day of sunshine. Temperatures should climb to around 78 by afternoon, with light northeast winds keeping the day comfortable. For once, the forecast is not demanding a backup plan.
The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan office expects dry conditions through Thursday, with winds generally staying between calm and 5 mph. Skies will turn partly cloudy Thursday night as temperatures fall to about 62 degrees.
Friday Brings Showers And Storm Chances
Friday starts with a 30% chance of rain showers, mainly between 7 and 10 a.m., before additional showers and thunderstorms become possible later in the day. The high should reach about 80 degrees, with southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph and only a small amount of rainfall expected.
Storm chances continue Friday evening and overnight, when the precipitation chance rises to 40%. Most of the activity should move out by early Saturday, though a few showers or thunderstorms could linger before 1 a.m.
Weekend Forecast Favors Outdoor Plans
Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 79, though a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms returns after 1 p.m. Sunday looks like the best bet for easy outdoor plans, with sunny skies, a high near 75 and north winds between 5 and 10 mph.
Monday stays mostly sunny and mild near 74 degrees. Another warm-up arrives Tuesday, when temperatures should reach about 79 with a slight chance of afternoon showers, followed by a better chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Patchy Fog Possible Outside Milwaukee
Forecasters are also watching for patchy fog overnight into early Thursday in parts of southwestern and south-central Wisconsin. Milwaukee itself is starting out clear with visibility around 10 miles, and no watches, warnings or advisories are currently listed for the area.
