Former St. Augustine Teacher Pleads Guilty to Federal Charges of Attempting to Entice Minor
Matthew Christopher Yates, a 30-year-old former teacher from St. Augustine, has pleaded guilty to federal charges of attempting to entice a minor to produce a sexual abuse video. Court documents reveal Yates was arrested in March 2022 after an FBI sting in which he arranged to meet an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old. He faces 15 to 30 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for December 18.
