Rare Device is at it again with another local artist exhibition opening soon. This time around the shop welcomes the work of artist Yina Kim, a Korean-born and California-raised illustrator whose charming images have graced the pages of Lucky Peach, Vice Magazine and more.
Rare Device's event page has more on what the show entails:
Slowly Rewind is a two part illustrated study of artist Yina's curiosity of people. 12 Units, a story based series is a semi fictional voyeuristic observation of her apartment tenants living in San Francisco. The ongoing portrait series is a reinterpreted images of found portraits. By incorporating her own story and memories into each character, it creates a relationship and conveys familiarity to the unknown.

The show goes up Monday and lasts through June 30, and there'll be an opening reception on Friday, June 6 that will include drinks and refreshments from 6pm-8pm. Original illustrations and Yina's 12 Units zines will be available in-store and online starting Monday.
