The streets poles in Brooklyn are decorated with random flyers and colorful stickers. Take, for example, this one I just discovered:
It says “Google Georgia Guidestones” on one side and “Google Bohemian Grove” on the other. Normally, I don’t spend much time looking at street advertisements, but for some reason, I thought these stickers were trying to tell me something.
So I began sleuthing (aka Googling) and this is what I found:
1) Bohemian Grove could be one of two things – either an underground music venue or a 2,700-acre campground in Monte Rio, California, where some of the world’s most powerful men in the world gather every July.
2) The Georgia Guidestones, on the other hand, is a granite monument in Elbert County, Georgia, in the U.S. The structure is particularly interesting because it is inscribed with a set of 10 guidelines written in eight modern languages (Spanish, English, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Hebrew and Swahili).
It states the following:
1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
2. Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
4. Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
9. Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
10. Be not a cancer on the earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature.
Now, I’m not exactly sure what I am supposed to take away from these street stickers, but I did learn something new. What do you guys think?
