If you walk through a New York City public park, you’ll probably come across a few benches decorated with bronze plaques. Most of the time, names are inscribed onto them, which leads me to believe that these type of benches act as memorials of some sort.
What I didn’t know is that anyone can “adopt-a-bench.” Those plaques also don’t always need to have names on them. In fact, you can share personal birthday wishes, marriage proposals or simple, heartfelt messages like this one I found yesterday:
