The East River Ferry isn’t typically a place associated with art. Yet, every time I board a vessel, a different photography exhibition is on display.
Currently, the ferry is showcasing the third installment of its Floating Photographic Exhibitions, which arose out of collaboration with United Photo Industries. Called New York Stories, the exhibit paints a visual narrative of “what makes New York New York.”
Each branded ferry has a unique showcase of photos on board, featuring work from Russel Frederick, Cassandra Giraldo and the NYC Parks Photo Archive.
The description states:
“Our metropolis is home to 8.5 million people, and every one of us has a story to tell. As you travel along New York City’s historic East River, take a moment to learn about some of the unique individuals who make up the wonderfully diverse fabric of this city.”
