A sticker at the intersection of Water and Main streets commanded me to Google “MK Ultra Operation Paperclip and Michael Aquino – Temple of Set.”
I’ve seen a few of these labels before. They’re plain, white and usually found on city fixtures like street poles or bathroom stalls. It’s the city’s way of reaching out to an otherwise social media-driven and media-consuming demographic.
In this instance, the stickers seem to have come from Mark Passio, the creator of WhatOnEarthisHappening.com. Passio’s website is a collection of research which encourages individuals to go on a journey of self-exploration, particularly in relation to the universal problems currently plaguing the human species.
Here’s what I uncovered this time around:
MK Ultra Operation Paperclip
Project MK Ultra was a mind-control program conducted by the CIA in which agents performed tests on human subjects in order to force confessions. The experiments, which involved hypnosis, sensory deprivation, isolation, verbal/sexual abuse and the administration of drugs (mainly LSD), were designed to develop drugs that could be used during interrogations and torture sessions.
Michael Aquino – Temple of Set
The Temple of Set is a religious movement which supports a worldview that revolves around Set, the Ancient Egyptian sun god. It was founded in 1975 by Michael Aquino, who was a political scientist and a Psychological Warfare Specialist in the U.S. Army. His position was made central during his term due to programs like MK Ultra — at least until 1990 when he was discharged as the result of investigations delving into his involvement in pedophilia.
