Socrates Sculpture Park was once an industrial landfill. In 30 short years, it has transformed into a cultural institution, known by some to be “New York City’s prominent sculpture park and social space.”
Open 365 days a year, the park provides an expansive exhibition space for artists to present their sculptures and multi-media installations. This year, it is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a jammed-packed summer calendar full of events.

Its current exhibition, LANDMARK, will remain on view until Aug. 28. It features the work of eight artists, whose pieces address the idea of place in relation to social and ecological structures.
