Located down a random alleyway in Brooklyn, you can find a “true French flea market.” It sits discreetly between two houses in the heart of historic Cobble Hill at 451 Union St.
The itty bitty shop, called the Tiny French Flea (facebook.com/The-Tiny-French-Flea-1437578973186745/), was created by childhood friends, Stephan Palais and Kouider Zioueche. Inspired by the flea markets found in France, Palais and Zioueche wanted to bring a bit of their hometown, Roanne, to New York City by establishing a quaint boutique.
Through small in size, the flea holds a wide array of products. A huge red, blue and white sign hangs near the entrance and alludes shoppers down the length of the alleyway.
There, they'll find a row of old-fashioned bicycles, beautiful glassware and Victorian chandeliers, among many other things.
The Tiny French Flea also has an Etsy shop (etsy.com/shop/thetinyfrenchflea), which offers unique finds from France, as well as some personal designs.
