It's going to be a mostly dry weekend; instead of binge-watching that show in your "saved for later" queue, grab your sunglasses, put some money on your BART card, and see what Oakland has in store for you.

Tonight at 7, Piedmont Theater (4186 Piedmont Ave.) is holding a free encore screening of Hungry, courtesy of Frameline Encore, an LGBTQ media arts nonprofit.

The film, which looks at what it takes for women chefs and restaurateurs to get ahead in a male-dominated field, is free. Seats are first-come, first-served.

On Friday at 8pm, The Oakland Symphony performs "Notes from Native America" at the Paramount Theatre (2025 Broadway). This performance of music created by and for Native Americans will include a traditional Pomo Indian dance along with a 20-foot drum to be used for John Wineglass' Big Sur: The Night Sun.   Tickets start at $25.

Lastly, get a jump start on Mardi Gras Saturday night at The Uptown Nightclub (1928 Telegraph Ave.) with their themed party, including special cocktails, music from Tubacabra and a burlesque performance from SF's Hubba Hubba Revue
