Like every thriving city, Oakland’s restaurant scene is in a permanent state of flux. Today, a look at the latest developments, including a delayed opening and news of some new arrivals.

SOBO Ramen, 988 Franklin St.
SOBO Ramen is expanding into an adjacent vacant spot formerly occupied by JCMY Boutique later this month, according to tipster extraordinaire Al M.
Owner Stella said the menu will remain the same, but a small two- to three-seat bar may be in the works. The expansion is expected to add as many as six new tables, and “best of all,” diners will have access to a new bathroom: “no more asking for the key and walking through the hallway past the open kitchen,” said Al.

Humphry Slocombe, 2335 Broadway
The nimble Tablehopper reports that ice cream innovator Humphry Slocombe is bringing its fanciful flavor combinations to Oakland this summer when it opens at The Hive. Although its products are available in some stores and restaurants, this will be the creamery’s first foray into the 510.
Humphry Slocombe, which also sells ice cream cakes and pies, is known for pushing the envelope when it comes to frozen confections. Adventurous Oaklanders will have a chance to sample a wide range of flavors, including bacon, Blue Bottle Vietnamese coffee, “Government Cheese,” and “Here’s Your Damn Strawberry.”

Sláinte, 131 Broadway
Jack London Square’s new Irish pub was slated to celebrate its grand opening last Saturday, but the owners “are waiting for one final permit,” according to a Facebook post.
Late last week, tipster Al M. told Hoodline that a colleague observed “lots of construction and painting going on frantically,” and new shrink-wrapped equipment was awaiting installation. Once open, the pub plans to serve a traditional Irish menu, “a well-stocked selection of whisky, premium spirits, and local & imported beers,” and present live acoustic performances.
T & Bowl, 901 Franklin St.
T & Bowl, which took over boba shop Shiny Tea in February, has delayed the unveiling of its new poke menu. According to Al M., fresh fish bowls will be available a week from today on April 17.
