Atlanta's 5 Most Mouthwatering BurgersPhoto: H&F Burger/Facebook

Whether you're craving a hearty lunch or a reward after a tough workout, it's hard to beat a juicy, mouthwatering burger right off the grill. We've ranked four of our favorite spots to savor a burger around town—along with one best-bet vegetarian option, for those who'd rather abstain from meat.

Holeman & Finch/H&F Burger
Buckhead/Old Fourth Ward

With its super-limited 18-burgers-per-night rule, Holeman & Finch is unquestionably the Patient Zero of Atlanta's fancy burger epidemic. But even after all these years, it's still a pleasure biting into the buttery bun on their knockout double cheeseburger with red onion (pictured above).

Didn't make it under the 18-burger wire? You don't have to miss out, as there are H&F Burger spinoffs at Ponce City Market and now, SunTrust Park as well. Burgers and Braves: a hard combination to beat.

Ann's Snack Bar
Kirkwood

Miss Ann may have passed on, but her rules still apply at this old-school counter, where you may have to wait for half an hour or longer to snag the famed Ghetto Burger. The good news is that it's well worth the wait: piled high with two patties, cheese, chili, bacon, and grilled onions, it earned the Wall Street Journal's "best burger in the U.S." honors for a reason. Just be sure to honor Miss Ann's no-cursing policy by not uttering "Damn, that's good" after you take your first bite.

Bocado/Bocado Burger
West Midtown/Alpharetta

So good that it got its own restaurant, Bocado's burger stack continues to draw loving fans at both the Westside original and the Avalon spinoff, Bocado Burger. The original double cheeseburger, with American cheese and housemade pickles, is still a classic, but each location has its own variations: the original Bocado has a "Westside Burger" with onions and secret sauce, while Bocado Burger boasts a "BLT Burger" with lettuce, tomato, and bacon.

Little's Food Store
Cabbagetown

This lovable Cabbagetown hole-in-the-wall has been in business since the '20s, offering cigarettes, candy, dry goods of all sorts, and oh yeah, one of the best burgers in town. The contents of the Burger Basket may be on the petite side compared to the rest of this list, but the small patty packs a ton of flavor, thanks to grilled onions, mustard, pickles, and mayo. And considering that it comes with hand-cut fries for only $9 all-in, it's a price tag worthy of the retro atmosphere.

Veggie burger: Yeah! Burger
West Midtown/Virginia Highland

With locations in Virginia-Highland and West Midtown, Yeah! Burger is a known quantity with many Atlantans. But what you may not know is that their veggie burger earns consistently high marks, with many vegetarians remarking in online reviews that it's the best they've ever had.

Available in classic veggie or gluten-free vegan versions, the housemade organic patties can be topped to your liking with a variety of combos, and served on a vegan or gluten-free bun as well.
