Craving pizza? You're in luck: a new Roman-style grab-and-go business has opened its doors at 102 S 21st St. in Rittenhouse

Called Rione, it's owned by husband-and-wife team Francesco (originally from Rome) and Alison Crovetti (an Allentown native), and features pizza al taglio: "a ubiquitous street food from Rome that is baked in rectangular trays and sold by the slice or tray." According to the owners, the dough is made from scratch and allowed to rise for 72 hours, "meaning that Rione’s pizza al taglio is light, airy, and easy to digest." (See a sample menu here.)

Rione has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 18 reviews on Yelp.

Jim H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 8th, said: "Highly recommended! One of the most unique pizza experiences in Philly!! Its a focaccia style pizza- a hybrid between thin crust and sicilian thick crust."

And Jared J. said: "Rione does something special with the Philadelphia food scene. For one they offer handwaves and smiles. Great way for me to know that I'd finally found the oasis of Rione."

With a price rating of one dollar sign on Yelp, an outing to Rione is estimated to cost less than $10 per person. It's now open at 102 S 21st St., so stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood.
