A night out on the town with your friends is always fun. But once the weather starts warming up, there's nothing better than tossing back a few daytime drinks while hanging out on some of Boston's best patios. Whether you're looking for stunning views of the city or TVs to watch your favorite teams al fresco, this guide has you covered. Here are six spots where you can catch some rays, have a few drinks and kick back with friends.

Best Rooftop Bar: Coppersmith
South Boston

With 150 seats, Coppersmith's rooftop patio is huge—big enough to need a bar of its own, which comes in the form of a classic silver Airstream trailer. Packed with picnic tables and lawn games and offering views of the harbor, it's a spectacular place to pass an afternoon over drinks and bites from the in-house restaurant—or one of the two "dueling food trucks" parked downstairs.

Patio with Killer Cocktails: River Bar

As the name suggests, River Bar is the perfect place to unwind by the water, with fire pits, heat lamps, and a menu of top-notch drinks alongside. Favorites include the I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, with aquavit, Lillet rose, caraway, and lemon, and the frothy absinthe frappé, with Benedictine and lemon. If you'd prefer to keep it simple and refreshing, go for the Pimm's Cup or the Sweet Revenge, with gin, blueberry, and bubbly.

Patio to Catch the Game: Precinct Kitchen + Bar
Back Bay

Hanging on a patio often means missing your favorite team in action—but not at this spot in the Loews Boston Hotel, which has TVs on its sunken patio. Sip a beer or an apricot bourbon smash, share a charcuterie board, and After the game is over (or during commercials), you can challenge your friends to a game of Jenga or cornhole.

Best Patio For Brunch: Boston Chops
South End

This steakhouse is known for its marvelously meaty Sunday brunch, featuring indulgent dishes like lobster Benedict, steak and eggs, and a brisket/beef shank/tongue hash—served poutine-style with fries, cheese curds, and gravy. Enjoy it all on the charming sidewalk patio, overlooking the hustle and bustle along Washington Street.

Best Dog-Friendly Patio: Area Four
Kendall Square

The original Cambridge location of this wildly popular pizzeria allows dogs on its patio, which is next to a sizable grassy area. After feasting on a sopressata pie, roast chicken, and the famous garlic knots, you can take your dog for a little run around the lawn before returning for a dessert of apple crisp or olive oil chocolate cake dessert (or another cocktail).

Trendiest Patio: ReelHouse
East Boston

Catch a water taxi from the Seaport District, Downtown, or Charlestown to this hot East Boston newcomer. There are stunning views of the harbor and skyline from its sizable patio, which even features a grassy lawn—and the menu is just as eye-catching, with food options like raw oyster platters and char-grilled lobster. Bring a group of friends to sip mai tais, Moscow mules, or "Skinny Jeans" (with vodka and coconut water), then hop a boat back to the city.
