A new spot to score seafood and more has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 17 S 11th St. in Washington Square West, the new arrival is called Luke's Lobster Market East.
It's the second Philadelphia outpost for the seafood eatery, which opened its first location near Rittenhouse Square. According to its website, the company is committed to sustainability, and is "able to trace every pound of seafood we serve back to the harbor where it was sustainably caught and support fishermen we know and trust."
The newest Luke's joins locations in eight different states and one in Japan, and features a similar menu to its sister locations. Expect to chow down on rolls (lobster, crab, shrimp), clam or lobster and corn chowder, a wild blue salad with lobster and blueberries, lobster tails, and three different seafood combinations.
Wash it all down with beverages like the ginger brew, blueberry lemonade, Mexican cola and more. (See the full menu here.)
It's still early days for the fledgling business—it's got just one review on Yelp thus far.
John R., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on July 23rd, said: "Stopped in the new Luke's location and man am I glad! Price was a bit high, but the food was excellent, and the store was very clean and the staff was polite. "
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Luke's Lobster Market East is open daily from 11am–9pm.
