Hungry? A new neighborhood Thai spot has you covered. Called Buddha Belly, the newcomer is located at 724 S Spring St.
Buddha Belly comes as the first brick-and-mortar location from the folks behind the Arroy food trucks known to pop up around DTLA. The new spot—located inside the new Corporation Food Hall—is serving up a mix of noodles, rolls, and items off the grill.
There are popular noodle dishes on offer, like pad thai and pad se ew; sliders filled with brisket, pork belly, satay chicken or sweet and spicy pork; and rice bowls that come with pork belly, chicken curry, lemongrass pork and more. (You can see the full food truck menu to get an idea of what's being served here.)
With a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, Buddha Belly seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Vivian H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 3rd, said: "I've been following Arroy truck for a while now and was super excited to find out that the owner opened up a brick & mortar right next to my work!!"
Yelper Careese K. added: “YASSS YASSS YASSSSSSS. As Arroy Food Truck's #1 fan since day 0 and you have NO FRIGGIN IDEA how excited I was. ”
And Brian L. said: "I was so excited to hear that the Arroy food truck was getting a brick n mortar. Some words I would use to describe the food: TATER TOTS? flavorbomb. PORK BELLY BOWL? fuego. BRISKET SLIDERS? dank."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Buddha Belly is open daily from noon–11pm.
