A new American spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called XO on Beverly, the new addition is located at 7475 Beverly Blvd. in Melrose.
With veteran restaurateur Michael Hung (Faith & Flower) at the helm, XO on Beverly is part restaurant, part marketplace, offering speciality food items and libations.
On the restaurant side, expect to see Asian-influenced cuisine, with salads, light bites, and rice and noodle dishes. Options include a Burmese-style salad with heirloom tomato, crunchy seeds and nuts in a tea leaf vinaigrette; steamed buns filled with seared shrimp and garlic sauce or pulled duck and plum sauce; or stir-fried pancit noodles with chicken, shrimp or pork belly and shiitake mushrooms, savoy cabbage, and fried shallots. At the marketplace, you'll find pantryitems like beer, wine, nuts, chocolate, noodles, sauces, and pasta.
XO on Beverly has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Greg F., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on December 5th, said: "Just had the fritters, the jidori chicken and the Caesar salad. Food and ambiance are excellent. A fantastic addition to the restaurant row on Beverly."
Yelper Elizabeth S. added: “I want to start off by saying that I am 'Team XO' and want nothing more than this restaurant to thrive and be amazing. Dinner— DELISH. Get the cheeseburger! So much flavor!"
