There's a new beer bar in town. The fresh arrival to Burbank, called The Empire Tavern, is located at 1623 N San Fernando Blvd.
Helmed by veteran home-brewer Dave Ochoa, the newcomer recently took over the shuttered Jimmy's Place. It features a wide array of craft brews and wines.
Expect to see 16 rotating beers and ciders on tap, featuring prominent local brewers such as Costa Mesa's Barley Forge and wines from Rebel Coast Winery.
For eats, the Enchílate Food Truck is on hand, offering Mexican fare. The space also boasts screens for watching sports, and a multi-game vintage arcade machine rounds out the entertainment activities.
With a five-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp so far, The Empire Tavern has already made a good impression.
Jenny K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on December 6th, said: "This new bar is awesome. They have 16 craft beers on tap and I'm making an effort to try them all. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking is easy and it is easy to find."
Yelper Jose H. added: “What a great place. Staff is awesome, the decor is really cool, and I'm looking forward to visiting the tavern more.”
And Ani K. said: "It's about time a bar like this hit Burbank! We walked in and loved the clean and beautiful style and layout ... and the music selection: Cure, Radiohead and Bowie."
