A new cocktail bar and lounge has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Sam First Bar, the new addition is located at 6171 W. Century Blvd. in Westchester.
This new spot—just a short walk from the terminals at LAX—specializes in handcrafted cocktails, and offers live jazz shows on the weekends.
On the drinks menu, expect to see classic libations like an Old Fashioned with Evan Williams bourbon; a Gibson with Beefeater gin, dry vermouth and pickled onions; and a Manhattan with Old Overholt rye. There are modern drinks as well, like the "Penicillin," with Scotch, lemon, honey and ginger.
Rounding things out are light snacks, like a house-made pickle plate, country olives, or warm pita bread with yogurt. (You can check out the full menu here.)
The new cocktail bar has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
