If you're craving xiaolongbao soup dumplings, a new Shanghainese spot has opened for business in Sawtelle. Called Tasty Noodle House, the new arrival is located at 2117 Sawtelle Blvd.
Tasty Noodle House already has quite a following from its original locations in the San Gabriel Valley. It's now serving up a selection of Chinese dishes at its newest location in Sawtelle.
The expanding chain also recently opened a location in Beverly Grove earlier this year.
The menu is extensive: with over 200 items to choose from, there's something for everyone. Expect to see items like pork belly served over preserved veggies, crab and pork xiaolongbao soup dumplings, pan-fried pork chops with rice cakes, scallion beef with black pepper, and braised pork with tofu skin.
Round things out with a variety of lo mein dishes, or Shanghai-style chow mein with pork and veggies.
Tasty Noodle House has made a good impression thus far, with a 3.5-star rating out of 22 reviews on Yelp.
Jennifer Z., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on December 7th, said: "Pretty decent Shanghai-style Chinese food. I'm surprised by the variety of dishes. We came here for a group lunch and ordered a lot dishes, and none of them let me down."
And Virginia T. said: "Good Shanghainese food that just opened up on Sawtelle. The fried dumplings and noodles were delicious."
