This will be the spot for me the next time I hit the city."

Dynasty Dim Sum
381 3rd Ave. (between 27th St. & 28th St.)

Dynasty Dim Sum is a dim sum spot that shares a building with Flame Hibachi (see below).
The new restaurant offers modern Cantonese eats like Hello Kitty buns, pan fried rice rolls in XO sauce, xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) with truffle oil. With Flame Hibachi upstairs, it also offers hibachi lunch specials.
Yelp users are excited about Dynasty Dim Sum, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of nine reviews on the site.
Yelper Lisa H., who reviewed Dynasty Dim Sum on January 27th, wrote: "We ordered shrimp crystal dumplings, roast pork bun, soup dumplings with truffle oil, lotus wrap and teriyaki chicken. The dim sum was excellent; I could do without the teriyaki chicken, but my husband enjoyed it. Service was also good. The server was fast, attentive and friendly.
Zach L. noted: "Wield wooden chopsticks as you bob your head to beat-catchy music, all while eating some very delicious dim sum."
Dynasty Dim Sum is open daily from noon–11pm.
Flame Hibachi
381 3rd Ave. (between 27th St. & 28th St.)

Directly above Dynasty Dim Sum is Flame Hibachi, a hibachi and teppanyaki spot.
The theatrical experience features meats, seafood and vegetables cooked right in front of the diner. On the menu, find a wide range of offerings, including Chilean sea bass, filet mignon and duck breast. There are also combinations—where diners can mix and match—available.
All entrees come with an appetizer, hibachi vegetables, salad and jasmine rice.
Yelp users are generally positive about Flame Hibachi, which currently holds four stars out of 25 reviews on the site.
Yelper Lieselle B., who reviewed Flame Hibachi on February 1st, wrote: "This has been the best hibachi experience I've ever had. I don't normally get excited about hibachi dinners as they all tend to be the same, but this place is different."
Joseph N. noted: "It was my first time having the hibachi so I wasn't sure what'll happen except for flames! I ordered the duck puff and pork buns like last time because they are the best pastries I've ever had, and recommend everyone to get [them] for appetizers. So far 100 percent enjoyment rate."
Flame Hibachi is open daily from noon–10:30pm.
Studio
23 Lexington Ave. (between 27th St. & 28th St.)

Located inside the Freehand Hotel, Studio is an all-day café that specializes in Northern African and Middle Eastern fare.
The new spot comes courtesy of restaurateur Gabriel Stulman (Fedora, Joseph Leonard), who is also behind the other eateries at the Freehand: the George Washington Bar and full-service restaurant Simon and the Whale.
On the menu look for the arctic char with black barley and herb chermoula, the shareable lamb kefta in pita, and rotisserie cauliflower with spiced almonds, romesco and saffron oil.
With a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp, Studio has been getting positive attention.
Yelper Lindsey S., who reviewed Studio on January 27th, wrote: "Everything was good but the pastries were a standout. I got a chocolate morning bun for breakfast the next day, but took one bite once I got home, and it was gone by like, 5 pm. It was super chocolatey without being overly sweet, and the texture was croissant-like and very flakey."
Yelper Franny A. wrote: "Sumptous new spot in the Freehand Hotel in what was once an SRO and student hotel. Lovely light cafe with a focus on Turkish and North African fare. Sit at a banquette and admire the eclectic design or sip on soup and nibble on a lovely dulce de leche babka."
