'Target' Debuts Small Format Store In RoslindalePhoto: Brandon K./Yelp

A new Target has opened up at 4165 Washington St. (between Murray Hill Rd. & Lee Hill Rd.) in Roslindale.

Previously home to a Staples outpost, the new 21,500-square-foot store is part of the retailer's strategy to create retail spaces near transit hubs, Retail Dive reports.

Aimed at young urban professionals and families, the "small format" stores carry a curated selection of everyday goods and products, including apparel, toiletries and groceries.

The new business has three reviews on Yelp thus far, giving it a 3.5-star rating, but it's still early days.

Brandon K., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on March 10th, said, "The main focus of any mini-Target is food (and should be). So, long story short, if you are looking for something specific, it's best to go online and check if the item is even carried at this store before making the trip here."

And Ricky B. said, "I believe that this Target is great for the community. Although many here would say we don't want a corporate enterprise in our community, it did bring jobs and a nice upgrade to what was here...a store that makes sense in my Roslindale neighborhood."

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Target is open Monday–Saturday from 8am–11pm, and Sunday from 8am–10pm.
