If you've got pizza on the brain, you're in luck: we've found the freshest Washington eateries to quell your cravings. Next time you're in the mood for a slice, check out one of these new places.
All-Purpose

With a 4.5-star rating from its first eight reviews, All-Purpose is a worth a visit.
Named one of the top D.C. restaurants of 2017 by Washington Post restaurant critic Tom Sietsema, All-Purpose launched a second location on the riverfront in April. The kitchen combines flavors from the East Coast and Italian coastline to create crisp yet chewy pizzas, savory pastas and fresh salads.
Laura W., one of the first Yelpers to review the new spot, noted that despite a few cross-overs from the original Shaw Street menu, most of the dishes here are "brand-spanking new."
As for specific favorites, Yelpers recommend trying The Rockaway pizza, with parmesan fonduta, New Jersey clams, smoked bacon, spring onion, grana and lemon; tomato-braised meatballs, made with beef and pork, tomato ragu, stracciatella and fresh basil; and the tiramisu.
All-Purpose serves drinks and the "Garden Menu" on the first-come first-served patio from 4–5 p.m. on Monday-Friday. The full restaurant is open 5 p.m.–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 5 p.m.–11 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday.
Oath Pizza - Navy Yard

Also new to the Navy Yard is Oath Pizza.
The transplant from Massachusetts claims to be the first pizza chain to be granted "Certified Humane" approval. All of its pie crusts are hand-stretched, grilled and seared over avocado oil, then topped with sustainably and ethically produce ingredients of your choosing.
Yelp users are still warming up to Oath Pizza, which currently holds three stars out of nine reviews on the site.
Yelper Lianne R. noted, "I love how they let you order two different halves for each individual pizza pie. They also have standalone half pizzas, which is great if you want to pop in for lunch during the week and not fall asleep at your desk."
While some Yelpers commented that they'd like to see more cheese and toppings on their pies in the future, many raved about the unique crust, spacious restaurant and helpful staff.
Oath Pizza is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
Pizza Walay

The city's pizza boom continues with Pizza Walay.
Taking over where H Street's Citi Pizza left off, the new halal spot offers whole pies and giant slices, burgers, chicken wings and more.
With four stars out of 25 reviews on Yelp so far, Pizza Walay appears to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Andrew R., one of the first Yelpers to review the new spot, said, "This is one of the best pizza places in the area. The ingredients are fresh, the crust is crispy without being burnt, and the recipe is on point."
Yelper Reshma M. added, "The service was top notch, pizza came out quick and the jumbo slice is indeed, JUMBO."
Pizza Walay is open from 10 a.m.–2 a.m. on Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 10 a.m.–4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Pidzza
3100 14th St. NW, Suite 170 (between N. Irving and N. Kenyon streets), Columbia Heights

Next up is Pidzza in Columbia Heights.
The local chain debuted in January with a restaurant in Ivy City, and has already expanded to Columbia Heights and the U Street Corridor.
On the menu you'll find "pide" —boat-shaped, thin crust, sauce-less Turkish pizzas — as well as traditional pizza pies and pizza rolls.
Ahead of the chain's debut, owner Koray Bozkurt told the Washington City Paper that Pidzza is "much healthier than other pizza places,” thanks to its thin crusts, minimal cheese and fresh ingredients.
Yelper Vishaal C. said he noticed a difference, stating, "Solid pizza, solid ingredients, and I didn't feel too full ... Felt like I had energy without the fullness associated with it."
Pidzza currently holds five stars out of four reviews on Yelp, and is open from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. daily.
Pizzeria Al Volo
1299 Pennsylvania Ave. NW (between N. 12th and N. 13th streets), Downtown

Pizzeria Al Volo is a casual spin-off of the Al Volo pasta stand and upscale restaurant at Union Market.
Located in the Warner Building downtown, the new restaurant serves up Roman-style pizza, homemade pastas and sandwiches.
It's still early days, with location currently holding a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.
User Shawn M., one of the first to review the new eatery, called out its "thick and bubbly crust."
"Actually I'd say the slice of pepperoni pizza was the best ever reheated slice of pizza I've ever had," he added.
Pizzeria Al Volo is open from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. on weekdays and closed on weekends.
