A newcomer to Bonnie Brae, Brightmarten is a bar and New American spot located at 730 S. University Blvd. Customers can expect to find upscale versions of American classics like burgers, nachos and Caesar salad here, along with some surprises, such as a beet and beef tartare.

Over in Globeville, Bohemian Bazaar is a self-described "hippie shop" and "boho lifestyle emporium" located at 5010 Acoma St. Co-owners Tracie and Chris Brady offer women's clothing, accessories, art, crystals and more. The Grateful Gnome Sandwich Shoppe & Brewery

The Grateful Gnome Sandwich Shoppe & Brewery is located in the former site of an antiques shop at 4369 Stuart St. in Berkeley. The brewery serves sizable sandwiches, craft beer, salads, soups and fries.
The Grateful Gnome has over 50 different sandwiches and 12 beers on tap. Customers can try more unusual options like the liverwurst sandwich or stick to tradition with the Sloppy Gnome Club, made with turkey, beef and Swiss.

TeaLee's is a relaxed tea room offering food, books, artwork, jewelry and more from its storefront at 611 22nd St. in Five Points. Along with its selection of loose-leaf teas, customers can enjoy afternoon tea and high tea trays involving pastries, chocolates and sandwiches such as the loaded grilled cheese and the salmon and cucumber with Japanese mayo.
