The Pelican Lounge

Over in Milan is The Pelican Lounge — a bar featuring bean bags, billiards and plenty of booze. 

Relax backyard-style in the joint's grassy outdoor area; or chill out at the marble bar with a fresh cocktail like the Irish Mule made with Jameson, ginger beer and fresh lime juice. An extensive selection of bottled beers is on hand, along with domestic and international brews on tap. 

The Pelican Lounge is off to a strong start, with a five-star Yelp rating.

Yelper Tony B., who reviewed it on June 6, wrote, "I started coming to the Pelican Lounge right when it started. It has been a great success in my eyes! It's a super nice little gem. The prices are fair. The beer is cold. The courtyard is shady."

"This is a beautiful little neighborhood bar," noted Stephen H. "They have a great backyard seating area with multiple picnic tables, cornhole and an outside pool table. The bartender was great and the vibe was perfect."

The Pelican Lounge is open from 4 p.m.–midnight on weekdays and 11 a.m.–midnight on weekends.

Jack Rose

Jack Rose is a cocktail bar and classic NOLA Creole spot, featuring a mix of New Orleans, French and Spanish influences, according to the restaurant's website.

Menu offerings include small plates like chicken liver pate, cocktail meatballs and Royal Red Shrimp Muddy Waters with squid ink campanelle. (Check out the dining menu here.)

Thirsty? Indulge in one of the bar's specialty cocktails like The Jack Rose with whiskey calvados, pomegranate, rose, citrus and egg white; or the Bubbles & Butter — a mix of rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, Montenegro and notes of orange. (You can view the cocktail menu here.)

Yelpers are excited about Jack Rose, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of 25 reviews on the site.

Leah P., who visited on June 23, wrote, "When my boyfriend and I arrived for dinner last Saturday, we were floored by every element of Jack Rose, from the lush-meets-kitsch ambience to the inventive, French-inspired dishes to the quirky, elegant drinks. Sofia Coppola would have her bachelorette party here."

"Amazing is an understatement," said Yelper Christine T. "Everything from the hospitality to the decor to the food.

Jack Rose is open from 3–10 p.m. on Wednesday–Sunday and 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 3–10 p.m. on Friday and Sunday. The "Living Room" lounge is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3–10 p.m; however, the dining room is closed both days. 

The Revolution

The Revolution is a cocktail bar situated just minutes away from downtown New Orleans, which aims to provide an "unmatched experience of cultural celebration, appreciation for the arts (visually and musically), a great atmosphere and all-around good vibes," says the business on its website. 

On the menu, expect to see cocktails like the Rosa Parks consisting of rosé, muddled strawberries, St. Germaine, mint and club soda; and the OCH — a mix of dark and light rum, and pineapple, orange and lime juices. (See the cocktail menu here.)

Yelper Shermicya S., who reviewed The Revolution on June 15, wrote, "This place is amazing! Fridays are perfect for after work! Networking, nice music and good vibes."

And Yelper Sms D. noted, "Great new lounge! House DJ is awesome on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, both had really cool sexy vibes. Great courtyard, must try their signature cocktails!"

The Revolution is open from 4–11 p.m. on Thursday, 4 p.m.–1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2.–10 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday-Wednesday.)

Jayne's Bistro & Bar

Jayne's Bistro & Bar is a beer bar offering a bit of Cajun/Creole flair in the form of Southern-style cuisine, espresso and creative cocktails. 

Small plate offerings include gulf oysters with housemade tasso (spicy cured pork), shrimp and and rice fritters with spicy Creole remoulade, and Jayne’s Creole Caribbean Wings — crispy smoked wings tossed with a Caribbean spiced cherry-mango compote.

Jayne's Bistro & Bar's current rating of four stars out of five reviews on Yelp indicates positive feedback from diners.

Yelper Doug B., who reviewed it on June 1, wrote, "Nice work by the team at breakfast today. Custom-made omelet and attentive staff. They even made my wife an omelet to-go since she wasn't out of bed yet. I'll be back!"

"I really enjoyed Jayne's," said Yelper Jen F. "The citrus salad was super refreshing and tasty! Perfect for a light dinner and a cocktail. The cocktails are expensive, but interesting."
