Meaty Johnson's BBQ

Meaty Johnson's BBQ has recently opened its doors with barbecued meats, sandwiches and homestyle sides. 

This newcomer sells brisket and pulled pork in quarter-pound, half-pound and full-pound increments. Quarter chickens and rib slabs are available, as are a number of sandwiches and sides. Grab a brisket, chicken, pulled pork, sausage or chili sandwich and pair it with mac and cheese, coleslaw or cornbread.

Yelp users are generally positive about Meaty Johnson's BBQ, which currently holds five stars out of 19 reviews on the site.

Yelper Shauna R., who reviewed Meaty Johnson's BBQ on June 1, wrote, "Highly recommend! All of the food I've eaten from Meaty Johnson's BBQ has been incredibly flavorful. We had Meaty Johnson's BBQ cater our wedding shower, and it was such a hit!"

And Paul T. added, "Best barbecue in town! No-frills menu, short and simple. Unlike most places where you have to douse your meat in sauce, the brisket is nice and juicy. All of the sides I have tried so far have been good."

Meaty Johnson's BBQ is open from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. and 4–10:30 p.m. on weekdays and 3–10:30 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)

Corner Spot

Corner Spot is a new neighborhood bar and restaurant serving up traditional American fare, cocktails, beer and wine.

On the menu, look for appetizers, soups, salads and sandwiches. Standout options include the deviled eggs with hot chili and chives; tomato bisque soup; and Creole mac and cheese. Pair your snack or entree with house drinks like the rum-based White Lion with lemon, falernum and bitters.

The Corner Spot is off to a strong start with 4.5 stars out of seven reviews on Yelp.

Richard A., who reviewed the bar on June 4, wrote, "Great neighborhood bar and lounge! Staff is friendly, drinks are great and the food is delicious. No distracting TVs or super loud music, perfect spot for a date or actually being able to talk to your friends."

Ali S. noted, "The owner, Casey, was so wonderful and made us all such tasty drinks. ... Food and drinks came out speedy but still were obviously made with care. I would absolutely recommend this place."

Corner Spot is open from 3–10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 3–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The Organic Coup

Check out the newest addition from The Organic Coup, the first fast-food chain to be certified organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, per King 5 Seattle. 

The chain prides itself on using non-GMO ingredients free of antibiotics, added hormones and pesticides. Look for the signature sandwich (organic air-chilled chicken breast grilled or fried with spicy shredded veggies on a toasted artisan bun) or The Coup Breakfast Bowl (scrambled eggs, cheese and tater tots). Açaí bowls, salads and other sandwiches are also on the menu.

The Organic Coup's current rating of 3.5 stars out of 31 reviews on Yelp indicates the newcomer is finding its way, but it's still early days.

Yelper Jordan B., who reviewed the new eatery on May 31, wrote, "This place is amazing! I love the breakfast burrito with crispy chicken and spicy barbecue, and it's all organic! They list their ingredients right on the package for most items."

Yelper Adam Z. wrote, "So fast, so fresh and so tasty! Spicy barbecue ranch is my new favorite. My sandwich was massive, the bun was toasty and delicious. This store was flying today."

Uncle Eddie's

Uncle Eddie's is a family-owned pub with signature cocktails, $5 well drinks, local craft brews and a menu that comes courtesy of chef Jed Lutge, per the West Seattle Blog.

The all-ages spot serves up snacks, soups, salads and sandwiches. Check out the Seattle Cheesesteak with flank steak, caramelized onions and melted cheese on a hoagie bun, or the fried mac and cheese balls and spicy jalapeño poppers. There's also a brunch menu with homemade biscuits topped with berries, sausage gravy or honey butter.

Uncle Eddie's's current rating of 4.5 stars out of 37 reviews on Yelp indicates positive attention from users.

Yelper Jeremy W., who reviewed the newcomer on June 2, wrote, "Super cool new spot smack in the center of South Park has great food and excellent ingredients. Everything seems handmade. Folks treat you real nice and with just the right amount of attention."

Brian C. noted, "Over the years, if you didn't want pizza, burgers or Mexican food you were pretty much out of luck in South Park. Not anymore! Uncle Eddie's got the goods."

Otto's Smokehouse

Otto's Smokehouse specializes in Texas-style smoked meats, protein-filled sandwiches and more.

Check out the Smokehouse Cheeseburger with a signature sauce; a smoky twist to the Cubano with crispy pork, ham and yellow mustard; or the brisket, pork, chicken and rib platters served with pickles and bread.

House specials include loaded tots, served under a mound of pulled pork and brisket and drizzled with house-made barbecue and cheese sauces; crispy Buffalo wings; and mac and cheese topped with meat. The full menu can be seen here. 

Otto's Smokehouse currently holds 4.5 stars out of 40 reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper Nicholas A. wrote, "I've been here a few times now and the food never disappoints! They are consistently smoking their meats to the point of delicacy. This is a destination, not just a place to eat."
