A new modern Italian restaurant has opened its doors in Troy. Located at 1695 E. Big Beaver Road, the fresh arrival is called Cantoro Italian Trattoria and sits behind the San Marino Club in the former Tre Monti space.
Like its original location in Plymouth, the restaurant features fresh pasta, steaks, seafood and wood-fired pizzas.
Noteworthy menu options include the deep-fried calamari tossed with sweet and spicy peppers; an arugula salad with orange slices, fennel and balsamic glaze; house-made veal ravioli; rib-eye with Gorgonzola; and the Diavola pizza (hot soppressata, sausage and Hungarian hot peppers). The newcomer has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp.
Koeun M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 16, wrote, "So happy to have Cantoro Trattoria closer to home. We've been going to the one in Plymouth for years now, whenever we're in that area, so was very excited to hear they were opening one in Troy."

Cantoro Italian Trattoria is open 4:30–10 p.m. Monday–Saturday and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday.
