1. The Hudson Cafe
Topping the list is The Hudson Cafe. Located at 1241 Woodward Ave., the downtown cafe and brunch spot is the highest rated cafe in Detroit, boasting four stars out of 749 reviews on Yelp.
It's named for the iconic Hudson's Department Store formerly located across the street. Bagley's Narrow Way Cafe & Shop, located at 19331 Livernois Ave., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bakery and cafe five stars from 31 reviews. The baked goods menu ranges from croissants and bagels to cookies. The coffee is from Zingerman's and is served in a variety of hot and cold formats. 4. Avalon Cafe and Bakery
Avalon Cafe and Bakery is an outpost of the Woodward-based Avalon International Breads.
