1. The Hudson Cafe

Topping the list is The Hudson Cafe. Located at 1241 Woodward Ave., the downtown cafe and brunch spot is the highest rated cafe in Detroit, boasting four stars out of 749 reviews on Yelp.
It's named for the iconic Hudson's Department Store formerly located across the street. The menu features classics like omelets and pancakes as well as inventive dishes such as the chicken pomodoro omelet (chicken, tomato, onion, basil, mozzarella and Parmesan) and the apple- and walnut-stuffed French toast.
2. Roasting Plant Detroit

Bagley's Narrow Way Cafe & Shop, located at 19331 Livernois Ave., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bakery and cafe five stars from 31 reviews. The baked goods menu ranges from croissants and bagels to cookies. The coffee is from Zingerman's and is served in a variety of hot and cold formats. Smoothies are also available along with Wi-Fi and outlets to charge your equipment.
4. Avalon Cafe and Bakery

Avalon Cafe and Bakery is an outpost of the Woodward-based Avalon International Breads.
