'19': a musical about women winning the right to vote

Dive back in time and into the middle of the women's suffrage movement as the self-expression-focused nonprofit FABUM conducts a staged reading of the musical "19."

Through scores of jazz, spoken word, dance and audience interaction, "19" brings to life the little-known story of Alice Paul and other the suffragists who fought to earn women the right to vote through the 19th Amendment.

During this behind-the-scenes workshop, expect to witness the creative process unfold as the company runs through all 19 songs and a fully revised first act.

When: Saturday, June 9, 7-9 p.m.
Where: Arts Club of Washington, 2017 I St. NW
Admission: $20
