A teenage boy was rushed to the hospital Thursday afternoon after being shot on the 400 block of Brandywine Street SE in Southeast D.C., according to police. Officers were called to the scene around 1:29 p.m. and found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound. He was conscious and breathing as he was taken to the hospital, though his exact age and current condition have not been released.
According to WJLA, the shooting remains under active investigation. The outlet reports that officers responded to a police call before locating the teen with the gunshot wound on the same block. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 202-727-9099.

Thursday's shooting adds to a troubling pattern on this stretch of Brandywine Street SE.
