Exploring the Night Skies

What's going on in the skies this month? Join the University of Washington Planetarium for a 60-minute interactive peek at the planets, constellations, meteor showers, aurora and interesting deep sky objects that are lighting up the heavens this July. The guides will also offer insight into some of the latest discoveries in the world of astronomy. Kids age 6 and up are welcome to attend the show, which will be offered on the hour from 5:30 to 8:30pm.

Lean In Summer Circles Kickoff and Moderator Training

For women looking to get ahead in their careers, Lean In circles (based on Sheryl Sandberg's bestselling career book of the same name) can provide a powerful kickstart.
Women and non-binary people who are interested in learning more about Lean In circles, joining a circle, starting a circle or growing and diversifying a circle are encouraged to attend this event, which will offer circle moderator training and matchmaking to help those seeking a circle to find their group.

KidFitStrong Fitness Challenge

"The nation's largest mobile fitness event," the KidFitStrong fitness challenge travels from coast to coast with a a completion-based obstacle course designed to challenge kids' speed, strength, agility and overall physical fitness, and encourage them to live an active and healthy lifestyle.
Kids aged 3 and up can conquer sprinting, push-ups, wall crawls, hurdles, jumping jacks, sit ups, tunnel crawls and a 20-foot confidence climb and 60 meter dash to the finish, all for free. There are also bumper balls for an additional charge.
