Temple of Groom

Temple of Groom is a men's hair salon that recently opened at 908 Massachusetts Ave. in Riverside. Led by Julio Guerrero, formerly of Troy Anthony's Barbershop, Temple of Groom is decorated in an elaborate Victorian style, complete with chandelier and sofas. It offers a standard menu of cuts, beard trims and straight-razor shaves.

Gypsy Place

New to 90 Hampshire St. in the Port is Gypsy Place, a cafe and juice bar. The coffee comes from Colombia and Ethiopia and is offered either as single source or special blends. Food is largely vegetarian, and smoothies are made to order from fresh fruits and vegetables. The decor is artistic and inviting.

Black Sheep Bagel Cafe

A new addition to Harvard Square, Black Sheep Bagel Cafe is a breakfast and brunch spot. Bagels from plain to pumpernickel are spread with everything from cream cheese (plain, chipotle, scallion) to ricotta to almond butter. There are also numerous toasts, including avocado and olive tapenade, plus a scallion cream cheese, lox, vegetables and fresh dill sandwich. Coffee, espresso and hot tea are available to drink. It's located at 56 John F Kennedy St. 

Zlatanova Music Studio

Finally, new to 315 Broadway in the Port is Zlatanova Music Studio. This business comes from Macedonia-born Sofia Zlatanova, who holds degrees from the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She offers lessons on the violin or viola, for children and adults, online or in person. Plans for parent and toddler lessons and sessions for expectant moms are in the works.
