A local cidery has opened its newest taproom in the city. The fresh arrival to Tacoma, called Locust Cider, is located at 2805 Sixth Ave. The family-owned business was established in 2015 in Woodinville and has another location in Ballard.
The modern cidery puts "innovative spins on classic cider-making methods to bring out the best in the everyday apple," Locust Cider says on its website.
Made with locally sourced Pacific Northwest ingredients, ciders on offer include the Original Dry with citrus and pineapple notes; the tart yet sweet Dark Cherry; and the sweet Honey Pear, which combines pear and apple with real honey. Check out the full range of Locust cider brews here.
The Tacoma taproom also has regular and gluten-free pizzas on offer.
Locust Cider's new location is off to a promising start with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Francisco S., who reviewed the new spot on July 25, wrote, "This place is just what Sixth Avenue needed: an infusion of a hip and friendly place to share a cold cider with friends. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly. We'll be back soon."
