A new spot for barbecue has opened up in Troy. Located at 890 E. Big Beaver Road, the fresh arrival is called Mission BBQ. The chain — whose motto is "The American Way" — celebrates veterans and first responders while serving up traditional American fare. This is its first outpost in Michigan.
Barbecue styles from North Carolina to Texas to Missouri are represented. Think pulled pork, brisket and spare ribs. Pair it with french fries, mac and cheese or green beans with bacon, and wash it all down with a lemonade or kettle-brewed iced tea. The Troy outlet marks the 67th location for Mission BBQ nationwide.
Mission BBQ has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.
Carlos B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 4, wrote, "Food and service are outstanding, you can't go wrong with any selection. Best part at noon all rise and sing the National Anthem."
And Marc F. wrote, "Real barbecue done in a smoker. The pulled pork was great, as was the brisket. The smoked sausage was good too. Sides are great, particularly the fries and the corn bread."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Mission BBQ is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11:30 a.m.–8 p.m. on Sunday.
