Hungry? A new neighborhood Mexican spot has you covered. Called Clementina, the fresh addition is located at 150 State St. in downtown Detroit.
It's an outdoor setup in Capitol Park, with a shipping crate serving as the bar and a parked food truck as the kitchen. There's seating underneath a pergola with lights strung up overhead and potted plants that offer some greenery to the area.
The menu (you can peruse that here) has dishes like the Summer Ceviche (shrimp, octopus, red onion, cucumber, corn, cilantro, Fresno chili and coconut vinaigrette), the Clementina Sandwich (griddled concha roll with fried egg, guajillo bacon jam and avocado) and the mushroom barbacoa taco (with ash onion, epazote, sesame, cotija cheese and crema).
It also serves up frozen cocktails, chilled tequila, beers and wine.
Clementina has four reviews on Yelp thus far.
Brittany D., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on July 3, wrote, "They have a beautiful setup! We got the guacamole, Summer Ceviche and Clementina Sandwich. I would order the Clementina Sandwich again in a heartbeat. The bun is sweet and something else gives it a little kick."
Maureen C. noted, "Glorified Instagram spot. Super cute for pics and that's about it. Food is overpriced and not worth it. A 14 percent tip is already applied, which is disclosed in very fine print at the bottom of the menu."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Clementina is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 11 a.m.–1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
