Fullblast Brunch

First on the list is Fullblast Brunch, a breakfast and brunch spot that recently opened its doors at 139 S. Cortez St. in Mid-City. The fresh joint is looking good so far with five stars out of two reviews on Yelp.

Look for a selection of breakfast items on the menu like an assortment of three-egg omelets with fillings like sausage, bacon, shrimp or pork roast; classic brunch fare like steak Benedict or French toast with bacon; and lunch options like shrimp remoulade, burgers, Cajun-seared chicken breast and grilled fish with pecan bordelaise.

10 Foot Pizza

Next up — 10 Foot Pizza, a spot to score (you guessed it) pizza, recently made its debut at 740 N. Rampart St. in the French Quarter. With five stars out of four reviews on Yelp, so far the new haunt is proving to be well-liked by the locals.

Wall murals and sculptures somewhere between Beetlejuice and a Tim Burton animation adorn the walls and set the tone for custom pizza toppings like pork rinds, heirloom grape tomatoes, Be-Hive seitan and vegan pepperoni, alligator and pork sausage, fried chicken, pineapple chunks and wild mushrooms.

Freezy Street

Freezy Street is dishing up rolled ice cream, shaved ice snoballs and more at 10709 Chef Menteur Highway out in New Orleans East. The new establishment currently holds a four-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.

With an alternate location on St. Claude Avenue, this shop rolls out ice cream flavors like Oreo cookie, toasted marshmallow, fresh strawberry, fair trade banana, Himalayan sea salt and Thai iced tea. Snoballs are also up for grabs in flavors like cotton candy, wedding cake, nectar, pińa colada and tiger's blood.

Love & Pie

Love & Pie is a new pizzeria at 401 S. Claiborne Ave in Tulane-Gravier. A 3.5-star Yelp rating out of two reviews indicates the parlor is still finding its way, but it's early days. Besides pizzas topped in peppers and sausage, or chicken and jalapeños, you can also find wings, wraps, gourmet sandwiches and calzones.

"One of the best pizzas I've ever had," Yelper Noah B. said. "I had the Cajun Persuasion, which was to die for. The shrimp and the sausage were amazing and could be eaten by themselves, but when coupled with the great ingredients on the pizza and the crust you have one of the best pizzas ever."

SoLA Deli

Last but not least is SoLA Deli, a breakfast, brunch and lunch eatery that is serving up sandwiches and more at 801 Magazine St. in the CBD. This business has been hitting the right note with locals, with a perfect five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.

Located in the Auction House Market food hall in the Warehouse District, this deli offers sandwiches topped with items like house-roasted turkey, seared pork tenderloin, smoked bacon, roasted beet hummus, caramelized onions, chimichurri and garlic aioli. Complete your selection with sides like Caprese pasta salad, herb potato salad or muffaletta pasta salad.
